Sushi Chef for Our New Restaurant Venture on Skeppsholmen

The Skeppsholmen Group is looking for an experienced sushi chef for our new restaurant venture on Skeppsholmen

Would you like to be part of the team from the very beginning and help create something unique? The Skeppsholmsgruppen is now launching a new restaurant on beautiful Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm and is looking for an experienced sushi chef who wants to become an important part of our team.

The Skeppsholm Group was founded in 2017 by Matilda Grünberger and Elin Dahlkvist Frid and operates some of Stockholm’s most unique meeting and event venues in a historic waterfront setting. We organize everything from conferences and weddings to concerts, memorial services, and corporate events. With our new restaurant venture, we aim to offer the same high quality and personalized guest experience in our day-to-day operations as well.

About the roles

As a sushi chef with us, you’ll work daytime shifts, Monday through Friday, at our new restaurant. You’ll be responsible for preparing sushi and other Asian-inspired dishes to a high standard, with an eye for both flavor and presentation.

The job responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Preparing sushi, nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls.
  • Preparations such as cooking rice, filleting fish, and mise en place.
  • Planning and production based on our current services, as well as catering for conferences and events.
  • Ensuring high standards of hygiene, food safety, and order in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team and the event planning team to create a first-class dining experience.
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and new sushi concepts.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has documented experience as a sushi chef.
  • Is skilled in fish preparation, rice cooking, and making high-quality sushi.
  • Has experience working in a restaurant, sushi bar, or catering business.
  • Has a good understanding of food safety, self-monitoring, and allergy management.
  • Works in a structured, efficient, and thorough manner, even when the pace is fast.
  • Is a team player with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in service and quality.
  • Can communicate in Swedish or English.

We offer

  • The opportunity to be part of the team from the very beginning and make your mark on a brand-new restaurant.
  • A creative job in an inspiring environment on Skeppsholmen.
  • Daytime work, Monday through Friday, which provides a good work-life balance.
  • A dedicated team that focuses on quality, the joy of food, and the guest experience.

This is a 1.5-year project-based position with a good chance of extension. The start date is negotiable, preferably as soon as possible.
