This classic Stockholm profile was built in 1897 at Södra varvet in Stockholm as a passenger boat between Nybroviken and Djurgården before the great World Exhibition that would consolidate Sweden's position as one of the leading nations in architecture, art and industry. The steamboat Frithiof is contemporary with Strandvägen's grand facades, Djurgårds Bridge and the Nordic Museum. She was in lively traffic on Stockholm's waters, and was in use as a passenger boat until the 1950s.
