Ahead of the summer of 2025, Skeppsholmsgruppen is strengthening its marine offering and presenting a complete concept for anyone looking for a unique experience at sea with historic ships, Swedish food culture and tailor-made charter tours. New for this year is that Skeppsholmsgruppen has taken over the restaurant operation on board the historic steamship Mariefred, where guests can now enjoy both restaurant and bar in a classic setting.

On board s/s Mariefred, classic Swedish dishes such as steamboat steak, S.O.S and strawberry cake are served – flavors that are enhanced by the archipelago view and the historic atmosphere. The boat can be booked both for dinners at the quay and for chartered tours of Lake Mälaren and the archipelago.
– We are pleased to offer our passengers a classic steamboat menu on the steamship Mariefred. The service on board is of crucial importance for the experience of traveling by steamer. The steamship Mariefred was built in 1903 for service on the Stockholm-Mariefred route.
Skeppsholmsgruppen also offers charter opportunities on several historic steamers, including Motala Express, Frithiof and the atmospheric mingle boats Tärnan and Djurgården3. These are particularly popular at weddings, where they are often used as transportation between the wedding and the venue. Both boats can accommodate around 80 guests, and the Tärnan is equipped with a speaker system for music on board.
– We offer comprehensive solutions where we help plan both pick-up and disembarkation in consultation with the boat’s captain. It should feel simple, safe and festive – whether it’s a wedding, a company party or an anniversary,” says Elin.
Skeppsholmsgruppen has developed customized menus for its boats – one for s/s Mariefred and one for Tärnan and Djurgården 3 so that guests get a well-thought-out dining experience adapted to the character of the ship.

By adding classic archipelago boats to their offer, they continue to develop the destination Skeppsholmen into Stockholm’s most maritime hub for meetings, events, parties and conferences.
